INVESTEC NIGHT RELAY

Local businesses are getting behind the Investec Night Relay series, which starts next Thursday at 6pm and involves their teams completing a 4.2km run or walk relay around the North End Lake and Stadium precinct.
Established last year to bolster corporate team building and highlight the urban renewal undertaken by the Mandela Bay Development Agency in the Sydenham area, the Investec Night Relay is anticipated to attract over 100 local business and social walking and running teams on the first Thursday evening of the next four months.
Local businesses are being urged to rally their colleagues into running teams of five or walking teams of three and come and enjoy the friendly rivalry as they pit themselves against friends, colleagues and business competitors.
This is the first year Investec has sponsored the event. The inaugural series last year, backed by the Mandela Bay Development Agency, attracted over 130 business teams and was recognised as a key teambuilding event in the local business community.
“We are delighted to sponsor the Investec Night Relay series,” says Cumesh Moodliar, regional manager of Investec Private Bank.
“It encapsulates the spirit of Investec and the way we like to do business: ultimately it’s about performance, but it’s also about teamwork, friendship and having fun. We encourage local businesses to enter and participate in what promises to be a great event.”
The night relay starts at 6pm with live entertainment from 7pm and a lucky draw prize giving from 8.30pm. Each team receives a complimentary team photograph with winners’ medals and floating trophies up for grabs. Each race evening, entrants stand to win lucky draw prizes including the latest iPod Nano, an MTN cell phone, jewelry from Havilah, accommodation from City Lodge and more.
Teams should register online at www.investecnightrelay.co.za . Companies enter for just R500 for a running team and R300 for a walking team per race evening. Teams are encouraged to enter online and avoid the late entry fee on race nights.
